A VERY SPECIAL HOLIDAY

Let me start with why we have this long and special holiday. This holiday vacation is the celebration of the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. (This is specially true if your a Catholic like me).

As a devotee of the Catholic church, Christmas is one of the jolliest and most exciting time of the year for us. This year is a very special one because I was able to serve in the altar and complete the "Simbang Gabi" masses again after this very long pandemic saga. As my Tito Padi said in his sermon, "there's no better way of celebrating Christmas than being with Him".

Not only that I was able to attend masses but it's also special because I was able to bond with my family closer after being distanced for more than a year due to the pandemic.

We had a very simple celebration together. We had double celebration (Birthday - Noche Buena) actually. I am not specifically born on December 25th but I decided that it will be a waste of money to celebrate it separately when they are just two days apart. We had some pizza, chicken, salad, barbeque, rice cake, and my favorite, shanghai. We exchanged gifts afterward. Sadly, I wasn't able to be with my father this time again because he has a job which I completely understand.

Christmas vacation doesn't end there. We also had some post-Christmas celebrations and outings. We went out to eat in restaurants, we went to the beach and pools, and I was able to bond with my old classmates. Unfortunately, I stayed home while my family travelled to other provinces because I'm not fully vaccinated.

But before that wonderful Christmas celebration, I celebrated my birthday first. This year was something different. I welcomed my 18th birthday with the people who keeps on supporting me in my streaming journey. I hosted a quiz show for a game prize. We played different games. and sung together. It was so fun and a very special night.

Before new year arrives, reality slaps me with the truth that I have tons of unfinished activities that I need to submit when classes returns. I had to do our research projects, be crazy in making videos/films, create infographics, and solve some chemistry equations before having a nice and alcoholic new year. I had fun in the new year though, I was singing and dancing all over the place feeling that I own the world.

I wish this happens again this year, maybe next year, or the year after. I wish I will be able to come home every year to celebrate Christmas after exhausting myself with college life far away.
